If you convert a player to trainer, he keeps the salary level he had before the conversion. If you use a future coach as a player in matches before he is converted, it might be a good idea to put a training block on him, so he doesn’t increase in salary.

His salary will get reduced as he grows older and his skill level deteriorates, exactly as with players.
