Since national team players do not receive any training for international matches, some national teams use an illegal starting formation with more than 3 central players.
Normally a team would not receive any formation experience when playing an illegal formation as 3-5-2 with 4 midfielders, but there are rumours that as a national team you do earn some experience in these formations, however less than normal.
